Cartoon star Kim Possible lives up to her name. It’s claimed she can do anything, and it seems that she can. No only does she maintain a straight A grade curve at Middleton High School, she does this while out on missions dealing with the deadly and the nefarious, and she leads the cheerleading squad as well. She rarely needs help, but has sidekick Ron Stoppable on hand, although his pet naked mole rat is frequently more help than Ron.

The 23 strips collected here originally appeared in Disney Adventures, and as that’s an anthology title aimed at the younger end of the market, space is at a premium, meaning these are very short adventures. John Green and Phil Allora’s ‘Naco Nightmare’ only rates the single page, while the remainder occupy from two to five pages. Because space is at a premium there’s little room for set-up or introspection. Most strips open in the middle of the action, explaining as they go along, and as in the TV show, it’s Drakken and Shego who provide most of the villainy, although Duff Killigan and Señor Senior Sr make an appearance as well.

A fair amount of creators work on the strips with Green and Allora (sample art left) the most regular contributors, both of them capable of writing and drawing strips, although Green’s pages are more crowded than those of other artists. The other sample page is from Dan Greacey, who has a clear action style.

Credit to the writers and artists for managing to produce action, adventure and comedy in such compact doses, but it’s action, adventure and comedy only likely to appeal to the young TV show audience and not beyond.
